Vitamin C is another powerful antioxidant but different from vitamin E. Vitamin C is water-soluble and works exceptionally well in blood. Due to its water-soluble property, it helps in protection of inner thin layer in arteries called endothelium (remember damage due to oxidative stress to endothelium is the starting point of this giant killer). Hopefully, if you have sufficient amount of Vitamin C in your body you will be able to protect your endothelium from oxidative stress from free radicals.
